I'm consistently getting 31-32 mpg on my 80% highway/20% city commute checking it manually. My computer was registering 2 to 3 mpg high until I performed the VAG-COM adjustment. It's now accurate to within 0.5 mpg.

I've been maintaining my mpg since I first got the car and it's dissapointing. Longer runs are fine but the short trips kill it. Although I'm in the UK I've used the code from the site I'm using to put it in US gallons for you guys.

I wonder how long before we see these logos on more posts

p.s. You can click on the fuel consumption to see the details or to take you to the site if you want to do this for yourself.

I've noticed the same thing. EPA estimates for this car are better than the B5 1.8T it replaced, both city and hwy. However, on the same drive to/from work I'm getting ~2 mpg avgerage lower with the B8 than I did with the B5. Kind of what I expected at 3600 lbs and 211 hp + quattro, vs. 3050 lbs and 170 hp FWD.

What is odd is that occasionally I'll get indicated MPG for the same drive that is 4 mpg or so higher (~29 vs ~25) without any noticeable difference in driving style or congestion/etc.

Thanks for all the info guys. These forums are awesome. I kinda figured mileage would be worse in the winter months as they always are. Coming from a Jeep Grand Cherokee with Hemi V8 at and getting 14 mpg an Audi A4 will seem like econo box. If I can average mid to high 20's I'll be jumping for joy!!!
Thanks again.

Similar numbers with 15,000 miles. Did your gas mileage go down with all of the cold weather?

Currently 5,400 Miles
Commute consists of a 6 mile drive to work. 1 mile drive to pick up kid, then 7 miles home. All surface streets. Fremont, CA.
The occasional drive to Fresno, Grass Vally, or Sonora ( all ~ 2.5 hours away ) will drasically change MPG's

It most definitely did. I'm seeing a two mile drop.

My last tank, in the cold (-10 to -25C), with only about 1/7 tank spent on highway (6/7 city), plus my aggressive driving style puts me at 13 l/100km, or 18mpg. 16,000km on car. This is definitely lower than what I saw in the summer.

Last year in my V8 S4 I could barely manage 13mpg in the winter!!
