Never heard that before. For every car I've had there has been OEM tire bashing left and right. More for some than others, but I have never seen an OEM tire rated best seller on tirerack.com except for Michelins.

snag, thanks for the link. But I'm already using the DWS on my car. I'm interested in the PureContacts.

Is there any truth to this? Has anyone noticed anything out of the ordinary with their Conti's? Any negative change in overall feel?
Also switched to DWS. Performance is good on all surfaces (dry/wet/snow). I did not notice a significant decrease in road noise but I never though the oem
Pirellis were very loud. Only issue I had was getting them balanced, two different Audi dealers were unable to balance them well, even with road force balancing. Third one was the charm though, so I was able to get it done eventually.

Overall I think the dws is a good tire for a decent price.

Interesting that there's no chart for the Ultra High Performance All Season category including the Conti DWS, Michelin Pilot Sport A/S, Bridgestone RE970AS and others rated in the top of the UHP A/S category as rated in TireRack.com.
