Buying an 09 Audi A4 - What to look for?
Hello,
I'm buying a 2009 Audi A4 Sports tech package with only 40,000km on it. The car looks mint and clean and is a lead return to the same dealer it was bought from. What should I be looking for exactly when inspecting the car in terms of known issues, maintenance that should have been done or known trouble spots for the car?
Also whats the next big expenses coming up at the next checkpoint?
Thanks!

I was going to say the same thing, but I have a 2009 that does not consume any oil.
I have the oil change done every six months and never needed to add oil...
I guess I must be one of the Lucky one !

Ditto on the oil consumption. Mine was fixed under warranty. Lease was over at 45,000 miles. My 2012 A4 S-Line rides a bit higher than my 2009 with sports package. The 2009 could bottom on a truck speed bump or bad curb cut. Watch for bent wheels from potholes if it's from the east.
Otherwise no problems. If it has Nav get an updated maps disk or use smartphone nav app. Google maps rocks!

Make sure you have a warranty!
I had some of the usual items for the '09 model which were easily taken care of...but I also had a very unusual problem with my suspension that took many many hours at two dealers before it was finally diagnosed and fixed. Since my A4 is a CPO, none of this cost me anything - they even waived the deductible after the first visit. If I had not been covered, this would have cost thousands. My oil consumption is 1 qt every 3500-4000 miles and the car generally is great. I looked at 2010 models when mine was in the shop so much and came away thinking that the '09's have more equipment. My next one will be an '11 or newer so that I can get the 8-speed automatic, which I had in a loaner car. While my 6-speed automatic is very capable, I do think that the new one is smoother.
