Default Blow Off Valve

Hi, all!!
I have a simple question.

I am a newb here and I went to a shop today to get a HKS BOV.
The owner told me not to get it because it does not recirculate.

Is there a solution to this?

Is there anyone here who did put a BOV on B8 A4?

Thanks!!!

Maybe you could make the sound with your mouth that way 3 weeks down the road when you're fed up you won't have to remove it?

Ha ha! Or have your passenger open a can of Pepsi every time you shift.

I understand that everyone has their own preference, but a BOV? Really? You're not driving a Mitsubishi with one half of a body kit that still painted primer-gray... You're driving a pretty pricey German luxury sedan. In my opinion that needless nonsense is best left to the boy-racers with the fart-can mufflers.

Style aside, BOVs are typically frowned upon since they provide basically zero performance enhancement, while potentially forcing you car to run rich. Which over time is no bueno, and will likely result in loss of power. Your Mass Air Flow sensor is expecting some portion of the air to be recirculated (or diverted) by your DV back to the intake side. Your engine management calculates the amount of fuel based on these readings. A BOV, while making you sound like you're in the Fast and the Furious, vents that air to the atmosphere, skewing the air/fuel mixture.

Unless you have some sort of big turbo setup with custom engine management software to account for the BOV, I *really* recommend just getting an upgraded diverter valve... if they exist yet.

Default Solution: Sell your Audi.

Do it before you disgrace us all.

As anyone worth their salt as an Audi owner in the B5, B6, or B7 forums (and probably the TT forums as well) will attest to, a BOV has absolutely, positively, definitively NO BUSINESS on an Audi. You're driving a German luxury sports sedan, not a JDM drift special.

Consider the many replies you will receive with similar content as your intervention. Actions contrary to this advice will result in ostracism from the community and ridicule amongst Audi owners globally.

And you don't want to spend your entire ownership experience being pointed at and laughed at, do you?
