Default Winter blades?

Why does Audi have a unique, non-conforming wiper blade connection to the wiper arm? With our first few flakes of snow forecast for tomorrow I was looking for a set of Bosch winter blades to put on my A4. I cannot seem to find any vendor that has replacement winter blades for the 2009 A4. I wonder if our Canadian friends have a source of winter wiper blades? Can anyone help me here? Thanks.

I may be wrong, but it seems to me that the new wiper blade design will make winter blades unnecessary. The advantage of winter blades is that the multiple joints of the old style blade are covered in rubber to keep them from icing up. There are no joints on the new blades to create such a problem. Guess I'll wait and see how well they do when we get our first real winter storm.

Except for the part where these blades have a channel on the top of the arm that fills with water which freezes and turns them in to frozen blocks of ineffective ice scraping your windshield. These blades *suck* in the winter. Whoever designed them never used them in winter time. I hate them. I called AoA about them last winter to point this out to them but they had no alternatives. Stupid, bonehead design.

Wait...aren't they under warranty? I believe they are. The dealership should replace them without charge.

Oh, I misread your post. I thought you meant yours were worn out.

Gotcha. Dealer has been great replacing them when worn out - no problems there. And they do work great in rain, no dispute for that. Freezing conditions though = suckage.
