Audi looks at the number of times you've been flashed...
and stores that in a database accessible to the dealership during guided fault finding. They will expect the previous version of the software on your ecu if you show up with a newer version than what they've flashed you with recently.

Hey! Sorry! I didn't realize you meant to flash APR software at home...
I for some reason thought you meant to flash oem updates.
We feel the relationship and expertise of a professional installation is a necessity.
There are some setup requirements that are of a higher than average computer competency level and a good understanding of the vehicle electrical system is invaluable.
The peace of mind of knowing the installation was done correctly and that any risk is minimized and assumed by other parties than the owner of the vehicle is important to most we feel.
However, I agree many experienced clients would have no issues, Audi owner's tend to be pretty intelligent
but our distribution network is very important to us and the enthusiast for counsel and guidance during the modification process of such awesome technology and responsibility.
