Air bag sensor?
I just got back from my dealership, where I had brought my car because the airbag and parking brake warning lights came on intermittently on my instrument panel. To make a long story short, the service rep said the problem was with a faulty airbag sensor located inside the passenger seat, and that it would cost $1,616 to fix. They said the part alone costs $991, and that they would have to remove the seat. I told them to hold off on doing the job.
Meanwhile, I've been trying to do some research on this problem, and many are saying that the problem can be linked to a yellow plastic connector located under the passenger seat. They claim that the Audi-recommneded fix is to cut out the connector, and simply splice the wires together.
Has anybody had any experience with this? I would hate to go through a big expense, when a simple fix is all that is needed.
