I want to buy heated seats from a 2014 A4 and install in my 2009 (non heated seats).
a) do they fit?
b) do I need to change out the HVAC dash module (and softcode with VAGcom) since my head unit does not seem to have blank buttons (there is space, but looks like hard plastic, no button).

B8 A4 is B8 A4, the seats are the same.
You'll need a J255 with heated seat buttons to control the heated seats. The J255 is component protected, so you'll need a shop or dealership to reset that after the swap.
