what size wheels best for snow
i got a 2006 a4 sline. i live in michigan and will be driving in the winters. right now the car has 18in wheels on it, with summer tires. what do you recommend going down to 17in or 16in? i was looking to buying a cheap set of wheels with some snow tires from tire rack. and now just wondering what size would be best.

Smaller and narrower is usually best, but...
...I've been using the OEM size 17" Bridgestone Blizzaks for three years now (on my 2003 A6, and now my 2006 A4) and have had very good luck with them. A higher profile 16" tire will give somewhat better snow and ice traction, but the trade off is in dry pavement handling and looks.
