she thought the A3 was a little too small and A6/Allroad/Q7 all too big so I'm psyched because i wanted the A4 Avant all along. going to be looking to get an 2.0tq, she wants the auto, but i'm going to keep working on her and talk her into the manual.
I'll post more when we're done shopping.

Good choice.
I thought I wanted an A3, too, but I just couldn't get what I wanted in that car (all the goodies, and a 2.0T quattro).
If you're not ordering the car, you may well end up with an auto... avants are so hard to come by.

It's nice to have the 2.0T with a Torsen Quattro
over the haldex as an option in your vehicle (or let alone the combo of both turbo and quattro in A3's for that matter)...I think you're getting more bang for your buck IMHO, although I'm sure the folks in the A3 forum won't be too thrilled to hear about this
Nice cabriolet by the way

i'm in no real rush so i can wait a bit for what i want
so after visiting a couple dealers tomorrow i will know a little better where i stand.
def. want the 2.0tq mt. premium, s-line, cw, tech, moon roof, pretty much the same setup you've got. although i have no interest in nav or sat radio

Re: It's nice to have the 2.0T with a Torsen Quattro
thanks - the cab was bought new from the dealers showroom floor back in 96, and still is tight and runs great, will be doing a 5 speed swap in it next year.

Steel roll bars integrated in the seats? Nice!
BTW, if you decide on the avant, I highly recommend getting the S-line option...pricey, but You'll enjoy looking at your new ride just as it's a joy to view your cab
