Default Vehicle Identification Label

I am the very happy new owner of a 2007 Avant 2.0T. 35,000 miles, looks and drives great, like new. One question, where is the vehicle identification label? I looked by the spare tire but it isn't there. Also not in the maintence book (space for it is empty). The maintence book is completely blank, crappy original selling dealer.
Thanks,

VIN is visible at the bottom of the driver's side front windshield for North American vehicles.

Thanks, but I am looking for the vehicle identification label that lists the options, color, etc. The VIN is under the windshield, on the door jam, the title and on the vehicle identification label.

Got it - since it's not in your manual I suggest you contact Audi directly and ask them for the info.

Even if you find it I doubt it will tell you very much as everthing is codes. I'd listen to what A4Audi4Fun suggested and contact your dealer for the info.

Thanks for everyone's replies. I finally ended up calling Audi Customer Care and they are ordering a new label, which must be sent from Audi in Germany. They apologized for the original dealer and filed a complaint against them for not doing the proper pre-inspection. Maintenance book is blank.

I can't say that I've looked at my own Audis, but that label is typically in the spare tire area. Could it have been removed?

It's not in the spare tire area. My belief is that the original selling dealer sticks one copy in the maintenance manual, one in the spare tire area and probably keeps a copy. My car's original selling dealer left the maintenance manual blank (no pre delivery inspection, no in service date, etc.) and I think never put one in the spare tire area. I don't understand how the original owner accepted the car as such. Audi Customer Care filed a complaint against the selling dealer.
