Trade my A4 for a Honda?
Hey all - I currently have a 2005.5 A4 2.0T with 60,000 miles. My dad is trading in his 2008 Honda Civic with 30,000 miles for a new truck. I was thinking of swapping cars with him plus getting some cash in hand and then he would trade in my Audi instead. My reasoning is that the Honda will be much more reliable in the long run, so I can save on potential expensive repairs to the Audi. The A4 has been a great car so far and I've had minimal problems, but from what I read the long term maintenance is hit or miss and if things start breaking its going to get expensive. I live in a city (Philly) so I don't drive often - if I lived somewhere that I drove all the time, it would probably be a different story. I love my Audi, but I'm trying to be responsible...
So what do you think - is it a smart move to take the downgrade in quality of car to get a car that should be more reliable and cheaper to maintain in the long run?

I had and loved Honda's before I came over to the Audi side of things.
Fun factor / driving experience - Audi all the way. A 10 year old Audi still feels and drives better than a brand new Honda.
Financially - Honda is definitely better.
My 2c worth - your mileage will vary; what is more important and what would you regret.
Good luck whichever way you decide.

I find this interesting. I'm about to trade in my '06 civic LX for an Audi A4. I'm almost 40 and don't want to not have a nice to kick around before I turn 40. Heh, at least I'm not getting a rag-top.

its really up to you, if you will sleep better at night with a honda, do it up. but if you regret your decision every time you get into the honda, thats a little upsetting. drive the honda for a week and see if you can live with the downgrade.
