Default Tell me about chips!

This has probably been talked about to no end, but I am looking for a chip for a 2006 B7 CVT. Please provide DIRECT LINKS to people who make such chips and the gains that I may realize from them.

Thanks in advance!

Use caution when chipping a CVT. It is not known for it's durability.

Thanks! APR seems to be a favorite here. Is it as easy as taking out the ECU and putting in a new one or what?

Default Read up... as it explains everything at the site.

No need to take ECU out, since it's all done through the OBDII port.

Many failures on stock cars. Some with multiple failures before 50K miles. I simply wouldnt chip.

Default It's pretty well documented the CVT is brittle...

It has long been known and even published in magazines the inherent weakness of the CVT compared to the TIP which is even weaker than the manual tranny on our cars. I wouldnt put a drop more torque through them and I wouldnt keep a CVT car even with stock power past the warranty as you are looking at about 8 grand for a replacement CVT that is enevitable. cheers! mike

So you're suggesting you wouldn't chip a tip either?
