Poor gas mileage 2.0T Quattro
I've only been getting 17 mpg in the city (I've got 4,500 miles on the car) and the most I can get is 22 if I do mostly highway driving. Do you think something is wrong, or could it be the extreme heat here in the South? I got better mileage with my B6 and B5 six cylinders.

gas mileage will get better around 10k miles and also the extreme heat will
decrease your gas mileage. All the hot air being sucked in is not that great for fuel economy.

mine about the same
when I am doing my city driving - average speed is ~20mph and there must be 30 lights inbetween home and work. Work *in* Boston, 6 mile trip takes 30min. With the AC it is about 15mpg, good air brings it up to 20-22 though, I keep it sane and under 4k.
I just went through a tank that was 3 work days, and two longer trips - 360 miles, 14.6 gal went in = 24.6mpg
I get *killed* with city driving.

I got 41.3 last week on 100 mile highway trip
Vitals: 65 MPH, 6th gear, cruise on, AC on, slight tailwind, mostly flat prairie, 92 octane fuel, APR 91 software, Quartz Gray paint
A4 2.0T 6MTQ
But I don't look at mine for around-town driving. I'm in stop-and-go rush hour every afternoon, and any other time, I mix in a few wide-open starts. This is the downside of having APR.

Re: I got 41.3 last week on 100 mile highway trip
Are you reading off from your DIS screen? or actually calculated using miles driven devided by fuel used?
Unless you drove continous down hill, over 41mpg in any sort of driving condition is hardly believable.
I can have my A4 go over 100mpg as long as i don't have to burn the fuel.
I think 20-32 mpg would be the reasonable gas mileage on 2.0L turbo with all wheel drive.

DIS display for average
It's not really that hard to believe, esp since it's Quartz. But with a headwind, crosswind, or no wind, I get between 36 and 39. With my 2003 1.8T it was more like 34 for the same conditions. After I bought APR's 91 octane program, it seemed to increase by one or so. The last time I went for maximum mileage over more than 70 miles with a slight headwind, it was 37.
Now, I do it to get the maximum number because I think it's fun. Here's how:
1. Get up to highway speed in 6th, set speed control to 65.
2. On DIS, select MPG Average and reset it
3. If I have to stop at a light or something, I accelerate away slowly with early shifts for max mileage.
And even one full-throttle on-ramp blast *kills* it. I mean as in it might go to 24 or something and slowly climb as the average increases.
But you're right; my everyday mileage is a whole different range. I'm crawling in rush hour every afternoon. I don't watch it, but I bet it's mid-20's at best.
