Has anybody....anybody...I mean anybody found a decent LED replacement for the license plate lights that DOESN'T TRIGGER THE BULB OUT WARNING in the dash? I've tried about 5 different types now, all of which have claimed that they don't trigger the warning..

BTW, I have the color dash computer, 2006 MY.

Same here every one of them triggered bulb out warnings even though the seller told me it will not. I lived with it for a while, but started to bother me. So I just added resistors since led lights do not comsume enough Watts to fool the system. It was pretty easy job. Did them in less than 30 min

1 watt 10 ohm or similar? Is there ample room in those inlets to prevent melting etc? Some details would be great...I'll probably end up doing the same..

I ran into the same exact issue. I went through 3 different sets all saying they sold "the bulbs" that wouldn't give an error. None did. I found this article recently that solved my problem. It involves buying and installing a resistor on the wires that feed you license plate bulb. Hope this helps you out, it did me.

I have bought 3 pairs of cheap LED's from superbrightleds.com and they all work fine. They throw the bulb out error until you solder a cheap 100 ohm resistor on the back, it doesnt get that hot, people exaggerate, the current is not enough to burn anything.
