Leftover new 2008 A4 - suggested discount?
I am considering purchasing a 2008 Audi A4 sedan, NEW. A dealer has three new A4s left in their inventory, all well-optioned. The dealer has not yet offered how much they are willing to discount the vehicles, however, I am not sure how I would negotiate what a fair price would be, given that they have delivery mileage but have been sitting for two+ years. Any suggestions?
1) '08 A4 3.2 quattro, $46,390
2) '08 A4 2.0T CVT, $35,525
3) '08 A4 CVT Special Edition, $38,090
Thanks!

Considering they are 2 years old even with the full factory warranty, some one is going to have to take a substantial hit on depreciation... And dealer will usually make money.
If you really are in the market, I would look at a '10 model.
If they are willing to drop $10-15k off of the price...

In a similar situation, here's what I got
Those cars are not new. As you point out, they've been sitting in the elements. Also, I think the warranty clock starts ticking at 1 year after manufacture.
I got my car after it had been sitting on the lot for 14 months, (I'm guessing, based on when the warranty started). I got it for 27% off sticker price, and they threw in a CPO warranty for free. Also, if they do throw in CPO warranty, do not trust them. Since I got no paperwork about it, I called another dealer to see if they had any record of it, and then stayed on top of the original dealer until I had independently confirmed that the car had it.
After 2 years, you should be able to do at least that well.
