Default I am looking to buy my first Audi

Hi all,

I am looking to buy a new audi and looking to get some advice. I have owned VWs before and also many Mercedes Diesels. This will be my first Audi. I definitely want to get a manual, anywhere from 2005 to 2009. I would like to know about the reliability of the car. What kind of maintnance am I looking at. How about the clutch? Usually clutches go about 100K. When and how much for timing belt. Anything special that I need to know?

I forgot to mention I am looking to get a 2.0T. what kind of MPG am I looking at? I have read about 22 in the city and 31 on the highway. Do you have real word figures. Also what kind of milage am I looking at from the motor. Would I be able to drive it all the way up to 200K with proper maintnance without expecting any major break downs.

200k is really pushing it. I would tell you to make sure you get an s-line and probably the technology package. The Navigation option is nice, but really isn't anything special as far as navs go these days, so thats something you can pass on. Also, try to go CPO from an audi dealer, best way to protect your investment.

I have a 6-speed '07 with the 2 liter, those fuel economy figures are about right, I get within 2 mpg of the advertised mileage in both situations.

Haven't had any problems yet but I have a low mileage car (short commute).
I do have the audi care package (factory scheduled maintenance) where it pays for itself in one trip, but you get four trips, so it's being maintained.

The tech package is nice. If you can find an S-line for a good price, go for it, but I wouldn't hold out for one with it.

I don't know...my '96 2.8 has almost 202K, I redline it every day, and it runs like new. And that's kind of low miles for many B5's nowadays. We also have an '05 3.0 A4 in the family which I'm getting to like.

I have a 2007 2.0 6-speed, and I also get pretty close to posted specs for mileage. Just under 30 mpg highway, and about 20 mpg city driving. The car is fun to drive, and I have not had any problems.
