Default How bad is it to hit the e-brake, while running 4-5k RPM in 1st gear?

A friend wanted to see if we could drift my quattro by initiating with a brief application of the e-brake. The thing is that he was just grabbing it w/o warning me to hit the clutch, first. The car was doing 4-5k RPM (in 1st gear!), in a skid pad-type circles.

I assumed he knew what he was doing, but it occurred to me that he's probably used to FWD cars and doesn't know that the center diff is a torsen or exactly how it behaves. I could definitely hear the engine fighting the brakes, though I didn't immediately realize what was going on.

Anyhow, the car seems okay, after about a dozen episodes of this. Still, I'm worrying about excessive wear that may have been caused. Seems to me that everything between the transmission and the rear rotors was subjected to rather extreme amounts of torque.

Just how bad is this, and what should I be most vigilant about, regarding wear/damage? I realize this was pretty dumb, but you'd be surprised what stupid things you can do, when you're with someone you think knows what he's doing.

Thanks in advance for info & opinions.

Default First thing you should do:

Get rid of your "friend". Anyone who would hit the e-brake in your brand new car without telling you is no friend at all. Shows no respect for your property or safety, and a fairly lacking sense of judgment.

you should test the airbags by e-braking your friend into a tree.

Default 2nd

What to be vigilant about? Don't ever let him in your car.

Default big time...

I can't stand people that openly abuse a car. Even if he did know what he was doing, he shouldn't be doing it without any consent. Was he even apologetic?

Default It took you a "dozen episodes" of this to figure out you shouldn't be doing it???

I don't understand how he could pull the e-brake a dozen times without your consent. The first time, ok, but after that??

Sell the car, you don't deserve to drive it.
