A VCDS scan indicated an open circuit on the Radio Antenna,
00856 - radio antenna -
35-10-open circuit - intermittent.

Removed the radio and the plug off the aerial amplifier, found the core of the coax open circuit somewhere between the radio and the amplifier on the back window, however the shield had continuity.

The radio end is the more traditional connector but the amplifier appears to be a FAKRA type.

Anyone had any experience as to which end has problems?

I have no idea. My VCDS shows that error all the time, and I get perfect FM reception driving around town.

Audi problems. If all works well I wouldn't bother. I get some interesting body control codes on my 3.2 but all seems to work well so I won't mess with it.
