Default experience with B7A4 2.0T on long road trips?

I'm thinking about taking a trip from Pennsylvania to Austin, TX to visit some friends and I would love to drive down there rather than fly. I think its about a 20 hour drive and I would like to do the drive straight through (taking turns with 2 other guys).

My question is regarding everyones experience with long road trips on the 2.0T. I've heard stories about other turbo cars overheating and getting ruined due to long trips - however, I haven't heard anything about this car.

Anyone have experience on similar - or longer - road trips?

My car is completely stock right now and has been completely problem free to date...

TIA for sharing!

Mike

Never heard of a turbo "overheating" or getting ruined during long extended drives

Default 6 hours is my longest so far...

...no problems. I'm hoping to make a 10-hour trip either this month or next...don't expect any trouble.

Have fun.

Joel

I've never had nor heard of any problems with turbos due to long trips.

Default 12 states, 5500 miles in 1 month and not a single problem

Made another trip to Austin last month and no problems again. I love this car on the road. Ran with the roof box on both times and still got 30mpg.

ATL, GA to Blacksburg, VA and back in 2 days (6hrs each way), no issues. I've done that twice now.

Default Yeah, that's a new one to me too. Unless you are driving the whole trip on

full boost or something.

I put 113k on my APR'd B5 in the 7 years I owned it, and much of that was multiple 1400 mile road trips w/ nary a turbo issue.

Can't wait to take my first trip in this car.
