Ever feel like your b7 is stuck in quicksand?
I bought a 2006 b7 2.0t quattro about three months ago with 49k miles. The first day i bought it and drove it home the check engine came on, and i had a "cracked blow off valve" 249$ out of pocket... whatever. Now it will work right? nope. I had my cam and high pressure, and regular fuel pumps replaced. got that done under audi extended warranty.
But now to my question, my audi, feels like its bogged down in quicksand. when i accelerate from a dead stop, sometimes; about 1:10 times the car will roll forward very slowly for about 2-3 seconds then accelerate at normal pace.
Does this mean one of my engine valves is stuck closed, or open?
Is there anything else that you would suggest could be a possible problem?
Or is this just part of the a4's legacy of slowness =/

Also there is oil constantly on my front left quarter panel down the side bottom of my car like below the door panel. And also my exhaust tips are black with soot from the engine i assume is from running rich or lean...?
I LOVE my a4 to death, but it kills me that i might just have a lemon...

Replace your N80 purge valve. It is a relatively cheap fix and it only takes about 15 min to do. More often than not this part is overlooked when replacing the CAM Follower/Shaft/HPFP. There is a good chance it stuck open.

Check your diverter valve. The old revision with the rubber diaphragm was prone to rip. I would update to the Revision D or newer (piston version) OEM diverter valver. You might not be holding boost.

Thank you for the reply. Although I'm stuck at work all week now I'm going to try to get to it this weekend. Are these fixes and parts I could do myself? Although my level of mechanical skill is mediocre at best, my dad is quite skilled: he rebuilt his 72' vette from the ground up without any help, so he should be able to help. Also I may possibly have access to a hydraulic lift, I'm not sure if this helps or not. But yeah, sorry for the long post.
TL;DR- can I obtain these parts easily/ if so, could a relatively skilled home mechanic with limited access to a lift do these repairs properly?

The N80 (for 2.0T B7) is about a $15 part

The DV is about $65. Europaparts and ECStuning might too.

I've done both of these myself. No lift required. Ramps are recommended for the DV, as the work is performed from beneath.
The N80 purge valve is done from the top between the engine block and the windshield washer fluid.
On the 1-10 difficulty scale, 10 being the most difficult, the DV is about a 3 and the N80 is about a 1 or 2....both very DIY worthy.
The DIYs exist for these...just give it a quick search. Audizine has them for sure.
