Default cyclinder head problem PLEASE HELP!!

I have a 2008 A4 S-line and my cylinder head needs to be replaced due to a faulty high pressure fuel pump. The car has 80,000 miles and the dealership is trying to work with audi so they will pay for it. Has anyone had this problem. It will cost me $4,000 to fix. ANYONE PLEASE HELP!!!!

Find a different shop and get a second opinion. I doubt there is anything wrong with the cylinder head. It seems that the fuel pump damages the camshaft that drives the pump. You should be able to replace the camshaft.

They informed me that the camshaft did the damage as well. They could be a expensive fix. Have you heard of this happening?

It happens quite often with the b7's, what happens is there is a cam follower which is inbetween the camshaft and the HPFP, the follower wears thru and damaged the pump and cam shaft. Changin your follower as preventative maintenance would have beena good idea and if you would have done research online, you would have known about this problem. But a cylinder head does not seem right, usually when the follower fails, you have to change your cam shaft, follower, and fuel pump, no cylinder head.

Default cyl head

It is covered under emissions warranty, what is the mileage on the car?
check with another dealer about warranty
we get a few customers here with the same issue and refer them to the dealer
so far dealer has taken care of all of them at no cost

I have the same problem as s-line. So customers have had this hpfp problem covered under a "emissions warranty" cam follower and camshaft replaced too? My quote from LOTR's is approx.12 hours of labor and roughly 1500-2000k. Is the labor that many hours? I questioned shop owner on it and he is going by the book and brushed it off kinda.

12 hours of labor is quite high. Reasonable time is around 8 or less. Replacing camshaft is a must. New updated camshaft has Increased surface hardening of the camshaft lobe. P/n 06F 109 101 B
