I want t add heated seats and the necessary dashboard control panel.
1. What is the proper name *and* part# of the environmental control with heated seat dash module (see pic) so I can do web searches?
2. What models and years are the best donor vehicles? (Easy is best, but you folks will know what non B7 seats will work w/o redesigning the car.)

Obviously, if you're near Portland, Oregon and you have either for sale (black seats, just driver's seat would do), hmu.

VCDS log for my B7 Avant with heated seats shows 8E0 820 043 BM - Climate Control HVAC switch. Pictures showing when I search on this part number do show the dial in the bottom left and bottom right that controls the heated seat operation. Please confirm for yourself. Don't know anything about non B7 seats that fit but many folks have switched to S4 seats.

Go through the threads here and on audizine.com and you will find tons of posts where folks have retrofitted seats into a B7.

You can find the control fairly cheap on ebay. Make sure the buttons are not all wore out. I think you have to remove the radio first to get the heater controls out and the radio takes a set of tools to take out that are inexpensive. Do not unplug the radio because you will need a code to make it work again. We have pick and pull in Washington state and they can text you when what you need comes in.

Also check Craigslist in the used parts section because people part these out and may have all you need for cheap.
