You are correct, it is a power loss instead of a "fuel cut". I did some research last night and there are some posts where drivers have experienced "power loss" , but no one seems to have the fix for it.

I had the exact same experience, they ended up changing the camshaft and follower and all those wonderful parts. It's never returned (2 years now).

Was it under warranty or out of pocket? I was quoted $2500 to fix it. Btw, did you have power loss in 4th, 5th and 6th gear at WOT?

Yes it was under warranty and I don't know what gear(s) it occured in (auto trans). Usually freeway/driving accelerating from about 50mph to 70mph. It occured a couple of times and brought it in right away, didn't do much more research. It was fixed after that, wish I had more details.
