If your in the US the B7 A4 was not equipped with the 1.8T motor. Canada maybe?

As for your issue, sounds like possible water intrusion in the ECM box.

It was not sold in NA. He is most likely in some European country. I have a friend that lives in Greece that owns a B7 A4 1.8t.

Have you tried starting the car in Neutral?

Any idea how the water may penetrate to the ECU box? The cars about 62000 Km. It never happened before. Just recently.
The ECU box should be tighten enough and closed so no dirt or even water to enter right?

I am guessing its the battery is weak. I tried to jump start the battery, It suddenly worked. Could it be possible that when the battery is weak, the relay picks up low current and disallow the car to be started?

on 2nd thought, it may be condensation at the ECU box. looking back I was using the air condition and using the "Arrow-Up" button instead of the cabin button (dunno what it called).
