A4 B7 1.8t engine won't start
I'm looking for 2nd opinion since I suspect its the car battery.
Wife's A4 won't crank, blinking at the transmission lights at the instrument cluster.
After some time leaving the ignition on, the blinks disappear and engine able to crank and start. This happens intermittently.
I did diagnosing and got this faults;-
Address 01: Engine
17925 - Power Supply Relay for ECU (J271 or J363): Electrical Malfunction
P1517 - 008 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent
Address 02: Auto Trans
005975 - Supply Voltage: Open Circuit
P1757 - 000 - - - Intermittent
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00100000
Fault Priority: 0
Fault Frequency: 37
Time Indication: 0
Freeze Frame:
RPM: 96 /min
RPM: 0 /min
(no units): 1.0
Torque: 0.0 Nm
Temperature: 79.0°C
T.B. Angle: 0.0°
Bin. Bits: 0101 0 0
049408 - No Communication with Engine Control Module (SAE:ECM/PCM)
U0100 - 000 - - - Intermittent
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00100000
Fault Priority: 0
Fault Frequency: 138
Time Indication: 0
Freeze Frame:

Anyone can help?

If your in the US the B7 A4 was not equipped with the 1.8T motor. Canada maybe?
As for your issue, sounds like possible water intrusion in the ECM box.

The ECU box should be tighten enough and closed so no dirt or even water to enter right?

I am guessing its the battery is weak. I tried to jump start the battery, It suddenly worked. Could it be possible that when the battery is weak, the relay picks up low current and disallow the car to be started?

on 2nd thought, it may be condensation at the ECU box. looking back I was using the air condition and using the "Arrow-Up" button instead of the cabin button (dunno what it called).
