... chip a 3.0 as the power difference is very small, and the potential danger (Audi declining engine warranty) is VERY LARGE.

in terms of warranty, they have to prove that
that part effected the part you want to claim warranty on, and on an NA engine with a relativly small gain, theyll have a crap load of trouble doing that, if any problems are caused at all seeing as it wont really strain the parts much more.
