Well, it's a sad day - the Avant is gone!
After 4 1/2 years of ownership, I decided to trade in the Avant and pick up something a little more practicle. My wife and I are talking about having kids and when I originally picked up the Avant, the wife was not even the GF yet and I didn't own a house yet either.
Now that its out of warranty and continuing to depreciate, I wanted to hedge my bets with another type of AWD wagon, so in comes the Subaru.
I know, its not the same as an Avant, but it still fits my 3 criteria of when I got the A4. Manual, AWD, Wagon. And with the prices Audi is asking, let alone their finance rates, I won't be getting into a new one anytime soon. Plan is to keep the Subaru for a while and maybe trade in my wife's car in a few years.
Who knows - maybe a new B8 Avant is on the horizon in a few years??
So, thanks to all you guys for your help and advice. This board is awesome and it's due to all you guys that contribute to it. Hopefully I have helped a few of you along the way too. I'll probably still troll around on the boards - just beacuse I don't own an Audi doesn't mean I can't still contribute.
And I know MB is still going to Post *****, so why can't I from time to time?
Anyway, here's a few pics of the new ride - just picked it up today!

congrats on the new car; i was in the same situation three months ago...
part of it was having to move overseas and not be able to ship my car so i had to let it go; PLUS the d@mn car seat doesnt sit my kids comfortably because the front seats dont have *that* much legroom for them.
good luck with the new car. the best mod is when you have the little ones.

OMG. This came out of no where but I do applaud you making the practical decision...
given where you are in your live right now. A year ago I was thinking about picking up a CPO B6 S4 next year but my wife and I have decided to have a second child, plus I am just coming off an 8 month job layoff and my new job is paying much less than I was making. That all said I will be keeping the A4 for at least 4 more years.
The Subie looks nice. Have fun with it and hope to see you around the forum once in a while.
