Default It'll save you some installation labor

At a minimum you might consider replacing the upper arms. They have to come out when changing the shocks.

Default 6/8 of the arms are identical to the B5.

TRE's are the same as well. So the problems certainly do still exist. They've just been revised through the years to the point where the B6 guys have slightly newer revised components. Similar to what the B5 guys are now installing with kits like our Febi-Bilstein kits.

Default Yes.

They don't alter the ride height like the FSD's can. FSD's will raise the rear about 1/8-1/4" due to their high pressure gas design.

On the highway the Sports feel more planted.
FSD's are certainly more comfortable on the roughest of bad roads, but it's naturally a compromise.

Default Rear shocks on the FSD are very highly gas charged

They're VERY difficult to install because of it. When we install them here we have to strap the shock in a compressed position, just so we can install them.

Default FSD's are not at all compatible with race springs.

They react VERY poorly when encountering the bumpstops, which on race springs can happen more often than you'd like.

Default I don't know what a rule of thumb is on how long stock shocks last. What I do know is

that in almost all cases, after market shocks come with a lifetime warranty. I think most manufacturers supply shocks to auto manufacturers, but to a lesser quality as the manufacturers demand a cheaper cost to them -- hence OEM stock shocks are never life time warrantied.

Default No, haven't had that done, but I hear ya on the eventual cost...

I've already scored a set of CPP adjustable control arms. I'm looking at getting the Bilstein PSS9 coilovers hopefully next year. Want the ease of adjusting back to Sport height for winter, and then down a bit for summer.

Default Thats the rumor, but they are not high pressure shocks like Bilsteins.

I refere to Koni stated parameters, not some subjective comparison. When I installed my FSDs, they are easily compressible by hand, and don't resist recompression if needed.

I have FSD's with the oem sport springs I got from Bronze. Nice match. Perfect for me.
