Steady Check Engine Light - but car was in great condition last oil change...?
Hi, I'm new the forum (and my car I have a 2002 A4 quattro that I bought from my sister). The check engine light just came on but 3,000 miles ago I had the oil changed at the dealership and they said the car was in excellent condition. It's going to cost me $135 just to find out why it's on...any suggestions? Also, I just moved to Reno NV - can I use this forum to find non-dealership places to get oil changes/repairs? (the dealship here charges 2X the prices I paid in Michigan). Thanks!

1) Don't go to the dealer. 2) Autozone will scan your car for free and give you the code...
2a) Or you can post in your local forum and find someone with a VAG-COM to scan your car.
3) Post up the code and we might be able to help you fix it without a trip to a mechanic.
