Default Single Mass Flywheel for 2002 A4 3.0?????

Okay, so my oem dual mass flywheel has failed. Just got back from looking at it at the shop. The flywheel surface, clutch and pressure plate are all in good condition; however the dual mass bushing or mechanism has failed. I would like to replace it with a single mass flywheel if possible, but it appears that a OEM replacement may be my only option. If anyone knows of any resources for a single mass flywheel for a 3.0 please let me know. Thanks in advance!

Default You dont know how lucky you got not having one available....

single mass flywheels suck. Search the forums and see how many people spent another $650 in labor just to have the OEM one put back in (I would have but I sold the car first).

Default I don't think I'd mind a single mass based on my driving style/habits

I understand the disadvantages to a single mass flywheel, but frankly, my other car and all my previous cars have had a single mass flywheels and I have been happy with the performance. Also, from personal experience, I think the 3.0 is alot smoother than the 1.8T anyway, so the advantages of a dual-mass are lessed in my case.

That being said, it looks like I'm out of luck for the time being with my 3.0. I talked with Andy at South Bend Clutches. They don't make one yet and don't know anyone who does. They are monitoring demand, and might make one by the summer, but that doesn't help me now. I'm going to go ahead and just replace it with an OEM dual mass.

None available on their website for the 3.0 (maybe I'll call, but they probably don't have one either).

Yeah, I'd call. My B5 clutch rebuild was a frankenstein of sorts... there's usually a way.
