I had the same fitting issue

I had the same fitting issue until I realized that the Latitude comes with larger hook adapter (marked as B on the leaflet). So you just pop the small hook adapter out, put the new one in, the one that has 3 cylindrical slots (I put on the middle one).

I obtained my '04 A4 Avant in Aug 03 and have been garaging it and using Rain X on the windshield. Use of the wipers has been minimal, maybe that's why I got 6+ yrs from them. But now they need to be replaced.

First I tried Walmart, the $3.75 blades didn't fit. Then I went to an auto parts store and was quoted a price of $65 for the pair. At that price I decided to take my chances at the dealer and was surprised I didn't have to delay my retirement a year. Cost for the pair was $33.25. BTW, the dealer said the current shop labor rate is $115/ hr (Westwood, MA)
