My car shut down on me yesterday...
Can anyone guess why, lol?

I've heard a "poof" and the engine went dead. Thankfully I was able to coast into a mall and park my car in an empty parking space. Put the hose back, tightened it down and I was on my way (I was able to do it even with my non-existent diy skillz, yay).
Called my mechanic and we decided to order and install a better clamp. This will be done mid next week so until then I've put my car to stock mode... oh wait, my software doesn't have a stock mode... Ummm... I'm limiting my right leg to 10-15 psi of boost max for the next few days :-P
Here are some interesting observations...
Exactly the same thing happened 2 weeks ago under exactly the same circumstances:
- extremely hot and humid weather (97F+)
- the hose blew off when I was trying to make a left hand turn from a stand still. No launching, just calmy slipping the clutch a bit at 1.2K rpms and going (max speed was 5-7mph). 3 seconds before that I had a make an somewhat abrupt stop from a 5mph roll (yes both times).
- I was attending to some personal matters during work hours both times.
Any ideas?
My current thoughts:
- my car doesn't like making left turns when it's hot and lets me know it
- my boss somehow rigged my car to fvck up every time I skip on work and go somewhere during mid-day
Okay seriously, I know that since I'm running around 21-22psi during hot summer days, the OEM hoses are somewhat prone to slip and blow off. I wasn't really surprised when it happened the first time (2 weeks ago almost to the day), but it did caught me off guard to have it happen the 2nd time (it was tightened down real good after the 1st time) in such a short period of time. Both times I was nowhere near any boost. Could it be that the DV is not releasing the pressure properly when I let go of the gas pedal?
Sorry for long post.

t-clamps, or ghetto fix -> 2 clamps.
2 clamp trick works good just that the clamps with holes in them bite into the rubber and damage with too much pressure. you can get wider t-bolt clamps than what you have. go to the nopi ricer shop they should have a plethora of goodies

Oil...
if the hose has any residual blow-by oil on it, commonly found inside the intake tract, it will not hold. You must completly clean off the oil resedue, on both the hose and where it goes onto...
