My car caught up on fire at the track.......[o_o]
went to track on july 5th, shortshifter linkage to the transmission bolt came off on hight way, then oil level sensor seal starting leaking crazy after the tech check, went to the VW dealership bought the seal, and changed it then put on a bolt for the shortshifter, already missed the first session, second session only started for 12 mins, smokes starting to come out from the floor, getting more and more, put over the the pit, flames start coming out from right front wheel, 2 bottles of fire extinguisher put out the fire, and this is how it looks now.
Reason: i took off the turbo , exhaust manifold, and downpipe to wrap it a few month ago, but i didn't put the turbo straight on the manifold, and the Vband clamp didn't hold half of the turbo and manifold, and when i try to floor it, flames shoot out from the gap between and start burning whatever closeby, lucky it didn't happen on the street, otherwise my car would be totaled.
enjoy the pics.
check out the car after rinse the powder off, need engine main harness, new hood, new timing belt, new coolant reservoir, dip stick and funnel, oil level sensor, suspension reservoir line for right front, SS brake line for front right...will start take apart and see what else i need buy....
engine main harness dealership sells for 1500, got one from junkyard off a 2002 1.8t engine for 350.
car will be back on road probly in 2-3 weeks.
this is how the car looks before the fire.
