long story short, have a 02 with 160k that died, needs timing belt, and top cylinder head rebuilt, mechanic says 3200 bucks will do it, it's my sons car, mine before his, car was great no real problems until now, not sure if i want to drop that money into it, or on the other side if i could sell the car as is, if anyone would buy it, any recommendation would be helpful

Used head=200 bucks
Machine shop to deck/clean used head-100 bucks
gaskets/bolts/tb kit-300 bucks
8hrs to put it back together.

Fix it.

Did some research, and parts alone probably around 7 to 8 hundred, and found tons of DIY info on timing belt and cylinder head removal, really considering it for a sunday project !!
