Default regardless...225/45 and 235/45 or 225/45 and 235/40 are not the same diameter>

the quattro ain't going to like that.

Default The reason to put the 235s in the rears is simple....

this is not a track car or a race car therefore, the little bit of difference that the 235s will give him in width would not be noticeable....I understand the comments made about the OEMs trying the larger tires up front on front wheel drive cars but the car is also engineered for that set up where the current cars are not....

Default As long as the overall diameter is within 3% of the OE set up, it is fine....

but on a Quattro I would not recommend staggered fitments at all.....on a front wheel car, the wider is for the rear unless this is a race car or track car only...otherwise it makes no sense...

Default I still wouldn't recommend running different diameter front and rear. >

not so much the deviation from the OE size, that would just change the speedo accuracy, but making the quattro deal with different rotating speeds between F&R.
I'm sure it's designed to handle some difference, but why risk long term wear?

Default But again...he'd have to put them on EITHER the front or rear so why are you choosing the rear?

Sorry if I worded it wrong, but I can see why you would choose the rear in a RWD car but why in a nose heavy car that pushes in the turns? I agree that he's not tracking it, but I just dont get why to put them in the rear if you have the choice between the front or rear? Wouldnt you want to put the rubber where it's needed most? Just curious about your thoughts on this. Again, I wouldnt do this anyways as Audi actually doesnt allow different sized tires F and R on their quattro cars. cheers! Mike

Default And AoA REQUIRES that the OEM comparible sized tires are used for warranty on powertrain items...

that would be affected such as diffs. Using those sizes would nullify any compensation for such failed components. cheers! mike
