Default Interesting, did not know that. I'll look into it. Need to get an accurate reading on how

much tread is left on the current M3s. If they're more than half worn I'd probably just get 4 new ones instead of having one new tire shaved more than half.

Default just measured the whole circumfrence of the other tire and tirerack shaved the new one to

the same as the others. I am waiting till next year to order the Michelin Xi2. I had a new dunlop shaved (same model) to get me thru this winter but think it is time for a change for next year.

Default Yeah if I don't get a replacement 3D, I'm going with the Goodyear Ultra Grip GW3s...

Highly rated winter tire, on par with the Dunlops if not better.

Default Same here. Cheap but works well.

I used factory jack once, about 5 years ago & never since. Other thing, next to sturdy work gloves I carry along is an old bathroom floor mat. I don't like dropping on my knees in mud/snow when I have to place jack underneath or when struggling with stubborn bolts.

Default you could also get a used M3 tire to tide you over until its time to replace all 4.

check ebay, there is a seller on there with exc feedback. just another option if you don't want to replace all four tires .
