I made it 65,055 miles before
blowing my first coilpack. I'm up and running again after changing it out...but something isn't quite right.
I replaced #1 coilpack first (it just didn't look right) and sure enough that smoothed out the idle. Strangely, the old and the new coilpack wouldn't seat properly and now I'm hearing air escape from the vicinity of the new coilpack.
Probaby a dumb question, but what's up with this?

I think someone needs to make a coilpack lady
it's not fair that the b5 s4 guys get to explain their problems with just one pic.

You said the "old and new cp don't seat properly", and with the combustion gas leak, ...
carefully inspect the installed plug, in comparison to any of the other 3, for any sign of the leaking plug being installed cross threaded. If the plug is cross threaded, it will not be parallel and concentric with the cylinder center line, and will be angled a bit with the coil connector off center. This will cause the coilpack to not fit down right, and also allow combustion gas leakage, even if the plug was torqued to 22 ft*lbsf.
