I don't think so. Just look at this A4 CVT dyno chart with P-chip and exhaust...

Yes but it's way too low considering that it's very efficient
If CVT can acheive same 0 ~ 60mph time compare to 5-speed, I think it's drivetrain loss should be the same as manual. I believe that AUDI claimed same 60mph time for CVT and 5-speed.
