Hey guys,

Haven't been on the forums in quite a while but I have a question for my fellow 3.0 guys.

My catalytic converter went bad with 82,5xx on the clock, just after the federal warranty (go figure) and I was thinking about replacing it with a universal high flow cat and having an exhaust shop weld it in place. I am not doing it for a performance or sound upgrade (although that is welcome), but rather because it is a much cheaper option to get a 100 universal cat then the OEM bolt on one from Audi.

My concerns are these:
Quality - will it last as long?
O2 sensors - how do those fit in if there is no bung? Will I need new rear sensors?
Size - what size will fit my vehicle? 2002 Audi A4 3.0q Automatic

I searched the forums to no avail.

call Magnaflow, the make many direct fit cats. I only found one for supercharged 3.0 on their website, but if you call them they should be able to direct you to the proper cat.

I installed O2 sensor spacers from AMS:

4 hours & $125 (special tools); problem be gone.
