Default Stalling Issue?

I own an 05 B6 1.8t with an aftermarket turbo and air intake. Today i was driving and out of nowhere the car stalled out by itslef (yeas it is a 6spd manual). I started the car back up in neutral, it stayed on for 5 seconds and the RPM fell back to zero and the engine stalled. I tried revving the engine but with the pedal all the way down the RPM wouldnt go past 3000. To add there is a strong scent of gasoline that comes. Could this be the distributor or intake problem. I also just got the timing belt done, could any of the issues be related?

Thanks
Alex

If it ran for a while with the new TB, I would guess that is coincidental. Sounds more like a CPS or MAF sensor. Do you have a CEL?
