Was the part actually dead? Was it not powering on or something? I have the same problem.

Radio reception was full of static and barley came in

Still under warranty..else = $ 283.00 mounts rear roof under trim inside...

My am is crappy now. Could it really be because of my tint?

I have metallic tint. Sometimes am works good and sometimes it sucks. Totally depends on location.

Yes, they go. I just looked at mine again today and it's shot.

I can push the amp module in various places and the FM signal intensity increases to normal. Looks like the amp board is warped, probably from the widow/roof heat. I'm sure the PC board is cracked or poor solder joint developed.

That part is worth more like $25 than a few hundred!
