Fault code 17748 - I'm not showing anyone know?
For some reason this is not showing in my list of fault codes. My guess is this has something to do with idle or camshaft position sensors as car is not idling correctly.
Anyone have any exposure to this?
Thanks!

I figured it out. It's my camshaft sensor/Impulse sensor.
I purchased a new one today and will drop it in.
What is going on is camshaft and engine speed sensor are getting incorrect readings, (or correlation). Meaning, they have no idea where readings are. Item is about $55 dollars and an easy fix

Looks like it was more involved then I thought. Replaced crankcase sensor and still had problem.
While checking everything noticed MAF needed replacing.
However, everything seemed to check out OK. However, with 164000 miles on the car, the cam adjuster, (which sits on the back of the engine and adjusts the intake and exhaust cams).
I worked with Audi dealership, (in their shop) and let them finish project. Removed timing belt, timing gear, removed both cams and replaced cam adjuster. Took care of problem but cam adjuster is $500 just for the part. While there, put all new seals and gaskets on the top end.
Adjuster still worked, but my best guess is the nylon chain guides have worn over the miles and made the exhaust cam off it's mark, (on back of engine). This was causing sensors to show they were not in sink.
Anyway, it's running well but was an expensive repair...
