Which is faster...chipped 1.8T or 3.0 V6??

Yeah, I'm waiting to see if/when Z-Engineering releases the SC they were developing for the 3.0.
Their centrifugal chargers are easy to install, and $4k is a good price (guesstimate) for it with a DIY installation.

differences:
Centrifugal:
- Excellent at providing top end due to direct relation of Boost to RPM
- Very compact in nature
- Req's a bracket for mounting
Roots style:
- Excellent at providing all round power (though usually tuned for low-mid power) due to twin screw design of rotor blades
- Usually has a custom designed intake manifold which it sits on
they are both belt driven

The other type is a roots type supercharger (more)
You can probably find good explanations and pros/cons of each on the web. I'll check my bookmarks when I get home and post a link if I have one.
The reason a roots type costs more to install is because it replaces the intake manifold. Z-Engineering's centrifigual design doesn't; it just has replacement intake hosing and mounts inline with it. Look on Z-Engineering's website for some examples, and then look on like PES's website to see a roots-type supercharger (go to Superchargers, then Audi/VW).
