i was underneat my car and noticed this. i don't remember it being there so i bet it's the coolant flange.

1.8t or 3.0. i had a leak on my 3.0. it was an easy fix once you were able to manipulate it b/c of it being so close to the firewall. mine was leaking a bit but not nearly as much as yours.

How did you do it for your 3.0? All the instructions I've seen are for 1.8. All the parts store only carry the coolant flange for 1.8. Are there any differences?

i never followed any instructions. i replaced the pipe that was leaking. i was able to print a diagram through my bentley and showed the parts guy at the dealer. the part i used was 034-145-779-d and was 10.15 at the dealer. if i rember it was one of those jobs that i wished i had the hands of a 10 year old. it wasn't bad and probably took less than an hour.
