Default Cost Efficient B6 Mods

So I bought a 2004 A4 1.8T last summer and I've loved every bit of it. I'm currently in college so I had to wait some time to get the money to do mods to it. I'm looking to start getting into the process but not sure where to start? Where's a good place to begin and what are the best upgrades to get for the money being spent? I know theres plenty of things to do but I figured with the experience y'all have it'll be easier to hear from past experiences. Thanks!

What're you looking to do? Performance? Looks?
I'm in the same boat as you... college wise.

assuming you car does not need any repairs or maintenance. best mod to start with would be a basic perfomance chip. apr, giac, revo, unitronic etc etc.

Agreed... an ECU upgrade will give you the best bang for you buck in regards to performance on our engines. I went the with APR stage 1 and am very pleased with it. here is the their link for prices and certified dealers: http://www.goapr.com/products/?vehicle=A4_B6

I would suggest deciding what your ultimate goal is for the car. Your HP range, the exterior styling, etc without it then there is no clear cut way to give you what your looking for.

If you have 1k performance - Forge DV710 ~45, Test Pipe [get inspection done first]~150, TT injectors ~300 then stage 1+ chip ~500. FMIC/dSMIC

or if you have more money look into FrankenTurbo or GTRS kit

If you have another ~1k Exterior - USP front lower valence ECStuning ~255shipped, painted lower plastic trim ~120 DIY, BEESix diy rear mod ~$100/S4 REAR/USP REAR ~400, ROOF SPOILER and trunk lip

If you have another ~1k++++ - RIMs vary but I'd go with VMR 710, Ti Pkg, BBS LM

If you have even further funds - Koni + lower springs or coilovers but I think coilovers for a DD/non-track car is overboard. look into extra breaking power - s4 or bbk. RS4 22mm rear sway for better handling

+maintenance +gas +life hobby is expensive and euro car isn't cheap.
