coolant light + oil light + engine shut off
While driving my car on the freeway my coolant light started flashing then my oil light...... i drove roughly a quarter mile then a broken plastic impeller/clicking sound.... i started to merge over and my car shutoff. It looks like something coolant related exploded inside my engine compartment. My water pump had been leaking and my thermostat has been stuck open. When I put fluid in the reservoir now it just flows out of the water pump
I think my timing belt is ok and there is no oil on my plugs... here are some pics:

Do you think there was catastrophic engine failure?

What you likely have ia a seized water pump which more than likely stripped the teeth on the timing belt which you can't see by pulling the cover back which means you have bent valves and possibly dinged pistons. Only thing you can do is start pulling it apart.

Im sure the belt is fine, i have never seen one actually seize and the belt still look that good. You overheated the engine severly, the oil got so hot and thin it lost oil pressure, thats why you got both overheat and low oil pressure. Start it up now, does it sound horrible, knocking, smoking badly. anything like that. It might be slightly ticky from the lifters, but if its knocking its done. New engine, if its burning coolant maybe headgasket. If it sounds fine, just fix it, change the oil with good synthetic 5w40 oil, and see how it does.

The car has 130K and the timing belt has 75k.... I'm not sure if the water pump was replaced.... Audi did the work.
I did a compression check and it doesn't look good:

I'm going to pull the head over the next two days.

If it were me and could afford, I would drop in a "new" / donor engine; one that has been gone over by a VAG mechanic. Or, junk it and find another car. Properly reparing an engine that has been overheated is not an easy task requiring a good mechanic and good machine shop. Having had an overheated engine repaired once in another car, I would not do it again. Head blew after 45K I suspect due to the head not being machined to required tolerances.

Yea, I think you should shop for a good used engine and make sure the pickup tube is clear and the turbo feed line is replaced, and timing belt, water pump, rollers and tensioner before you install it. Like he said, engines that are overheated to the point they stop or the oil pressure lights on there usually done.
