Considering a 2003 A4 1.8t Avant
What do folks think about this?
---
2003 Audi A4 1.8 Turbo Avant Quattro AWD 4 cylinder Wagon
Excellent city car! Perfect for weekend trips to Tahoe and beyond! Has been regularly maintained, drives great, in excellent mechanical condition with many more years of enjoyment left. I've had this car for almost two years and only want to sell because I barely drive it.
Premium sports package
Heated front seats
Bose premium sound system
Automatic transmission with sport manual option
Panoramic sunroof
Fog lights
Alarm
Fully functional climate control
Pirelli tires
Clean title
Body is very clean, no dents, only cosmetic issue is rear bumper has typical city scratches
Mileage: 119K
$6300
-------
I'll be doing a PPI on it, with oil pressure test, and possibly compression test. Should I ask them to also check for turbo shaft play?
TB change is not documented, so I'll change it as soon as I buy it.
Also, anyone know the engine code for this MY? Does it have a CVT, or is it a standard automatic transmission? I searched and couldn't find much on that.

That sounds like a good deal. I paid $7000 for an 03 sedan about a year ago with 103K. Definitely do the PPI and don't wait on the timing belt. Mine had not been changed and was in really bad shape.

Mileage is 23 to 24 in pure city and 30 - 32 on highway. I have the 1.8t with manual and quattro. It is a sport version. I will add that I was very lucky to find a one owner car and even called the previous owner 5 states away (to his surprise) and chatted with him about the service history.
