Default center brake light issue. I've looked and looked. need some help from experienced

audi lovers... my center brake light indicator is going off. it indeed does not work. I know the LED bar is good. I used a splice and hooked it up to the rear brake light side lights. it works when I press on the brakes or turn on head lights. so it's not the LED bar.

I was told it may be the body control module. I'm not sure I'm buying into that because it all seems to work aside from the center brake light. I recently bought the car and noticed there was an aftermarket Sirius antenna hooked up. I traced the wire for that back to the fuse box. it was hooked into one of the fuses. not sure which one, but I removed it. my questions is, where can I trace wires or electrical fuses, relays or any other things related to the center brake light? also read could be brake pedal switch. need to know how to diagnose. this thing is boggling me. so simple, but annoying. thanks everyone

Do you have access to a vagcom to check for codes in the body control module it should be able to say if the connection to the led bar is shorted or open. The body control module in the dash controls all the lights individually so it can tell if the bulbs are bad. You may have a cut wire to the led bar somewhere.

i do not have access to vag-com, but it sounds like that module may have indeed gone bad if you're suggesting it too. the good news is i found one for $75

It would be benificial to check it first with a vagcom you may have cut wires you could fix for little money.
