CD player does not turn on/off, screen light on all the time
Hello, all.
My A4 (B6) had a problem: the CD player cannot be turned on or off even if the ignition is off. The display screen is always lit no matter the car is running or switched off (locked or unlocked).
I am wondering whether it is a common problem that indicates my CD player is dead...
Thank you all

I've had this happen to me twice in my 7 years of B6 ownership. I have no explanation for it, and neither did my dealer.
Both times I simply disconnected the battery for 60 seconds and then reconnected it. Solved the issue both times. However, for one of them I had to enter the radio security code, and one time I did not. So be sure you have that just in case.

This happens to me about twice a year. I just pull the fuse for a few seconds and then put it back. Radio then works fine. In my case, I've never been prompted for the radio code after it restarted.
