Jet Jockey/A4 Pilot

The head will be here by week's end too. Then the final measurements, honing/boring will be done and engine assembly started.

We are still working on the rear sub-frame project (pictures to come soon) and we decided to also do the front sub-frame in the same matter.

In the mean time the weight reduction program is going on at full speed!

Since no one as come up with a Carbon Fibre version of it, I decided to attack the trunk lid and shave some pounds from that area. I don't know how much weight was removed but the lid is definitely lighter and yet still very stiff and won't bend out of shape like on a Japanese car.


Here we have a bare trunk lid with the finishing liner already removed.




Here's what was removed and cut out.




Finally here's the trunk lid after the cutting is done.

Did you weigh the extra pieces of the trunk to see what you saved?
Also, what are you punching the engine out to. I remember you were going with a larger turbo, (GT28rs as I remember) which will require new software, (curious as to who's software your using).
